Eligibility

  • Have financial need.
  • Have a high school diploma or a General Education Development ( GED ) Certificate, or pass a test approved by the U.S. Department of Education ( Ability to Benefit ).

  • Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a regular student working toward a degree or certificate in eligible program.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  • Have a valid Social Security Number.
  • Make satisfactory academic progress.
  • Sign a statement of education purpose and a certification statement on overpayment and default ( both found on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid [ FAFSA ] ).
  • Register with the Selective Service, if required.
  • All transcripts from previously attended colleges and universities must be evaluated for transfer credit before any federal titile IV aid can be awarded and/or credited to a students account.
