Steps to Apply for the Tests

  • Students need to have submitted an Admissions Application to the Admissions Office and have it processed BEFORE they are allowed to test.
  • Students must follow the steps below to reserve a seat:
    • Schedule an appointment at any of our Student Assessment Center locations locate at Pecan, Mid-Valley or Starr Campuses
    • Once you schedule an appointment, report immediately to the Cashier’s Office to pay a $15 non-refundable reservation seating fee.  Seating fee must be paid with Check or Money Order after 5:00pm.  NO CASH.
    • Bring proof of payment back to our original appointment location to receive test admissions ticket.  All examinees must have an admissions ticket to be allowed to test.
    • When taking the ACCUPLACER/THEA, you must bring a Check or Money Order payable to STC for the amount of $29 on the day of testing.  You must have your Check/Money Order prior to beginning the test.  NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED.
    • You must bring a Picture ID, NO EXCEPTIONS.  Please bring 2#2 pencils.  You are allowed to use a four-function (=, -, /, x) nonprogrammable calculator [with square root (√) and percent (%) keys].

NOTE:  All testing sessions are by appointment only.  All exam appointments must be done in person.  No exceptions.  Seating is limited.  Please arrive at the test site by no later than your scheduled time (please try to be early due to parking).  NO LATE ENTRIES OR STANDBYS WILL BE ALLOWED.  A seating fee must be paid for every scheduled appointment.  It takes about 45 minutes to sign in and fill out all required forms.
