Academic Improvement Plan

Counseling and Student Disability Services Academic Improvement Plan is designed for students who have been placed on Academic Probation and Continued Academic Probation because of unsatisfactory academic progress at South Texas College. South Texas College’s Academic Standards Policy requires that students maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 to remain in Good Academic Standing. As a result of the Academic Status, a registration “Hold” has been placed on the academic record which does not allow students to register and make schedule changes for the upcoming semester. Student’s placed on Academic Suspension MUST visit with a South Texas College Counselor to complete the process.

Students placed on Academic Probation or Continued Academic Probation may get their "Hold" cleared, within 1 business day, after successfully completing the Academic Improvement Plan online module. The hold must be cleared prior to the first class day in order to be guaranteed enrollment in courses. Should there be any questions, contact Counseling and Student Disability Services at (956) 872-2173 or via email
