The South Texas College Biology Department is proud to announce the launch of the Biology Initiative for Opportunity & Community Advancement in Research & Education (BioCare), a new scholarship initiative designed to support our students as they pursue careers in the biological and health sciences. Many of our students come from hardworking families across the Rio Grande Valley, and while they possess the talent and determination to succeed, financial barriers often stand in the way of completing their education. BioCare seeks to change that.

In that spirit, BioCare aims to provide direct financial assistance to deserving students who demonstrate academic promise, leadership, and a commitment to serving their community through careers in healthcare, research, and related fields.

As a valued member of our region’s healthcare and business community, your support can make an immediate and lasting difference. Contributions to BioCare will:

• Provide scholarships that help students cover tuition, textbooks, lab supplies, and other essential academic expenses.
• Strengthen the local healthcare pipeline by supporting future professionals who will serve in clinics, hospitals, laboratories, and public health organizations throughout South Texas.
• Ensure that talented students have access to the education they need to succeed.

BioCare embodies these principles by investing directly in the students who will become the next generation of healthcare providers and scientific leaders in our region.
