The Office of Career and Employer Services offers a variety of services tailored to meet your needs from the start of your educational journey to successful careers after graduation. Resources are offered to currently enrolled students and South Texas College Alumni. 

Appointment Guidelines

By connecting with CES, you commit to the Memorandum of Understanding. Our practices have been designed with the best interests of South Texas College students and alumni in mind and to help you understand what is expected of you. Please observe the highest professional and ethical standards, and see yourself as we see you – as an ambassador to the community, representing South Texas College. Our goal is to help you be an active participant in the continuing development, evaluation and implementation of your personal career plans.

  • As with any scheduling commitment, it is expected that you will arrive on time. Should you be running late for whatever reason, it is your responsibility to contact us prior to the start of your appointment. It will be up to the discretion of your career advisor to see you for the time remaining or to reschedule at their convenience.
  • Should you need to cancel, we ask that you contact us 24 hours in advance as a courtesy to others who may be in need of assistance. No shows are completely unacceptable.
  • Walk-ins are for brief 15 minute resume critiques and quick questions only. If you need more time with staff, please schedule an appointment. Please note walk-in hours are not available during the following:
    • the first two weeks of each semester
    • College holidays and the day of career events

Our office is available to assist with designing professional resumes, cover letters and portfolios that emphasize talents, skills and experience to deliver the right message to a prospective employers.
